"Sophisticated UPS monitoring software supplies with all UPS"

AEC Profile; UPS systems

20kVA - 60kVA UPS System
T5 SERIES

The introduction of the new T5 series really does define our position as a market leader in design and manufacture of Uninterruptible Power Supplies. Drawing on over 30 years in power management production, the T5 is a testament to the skills and abilities of our dedicated in-house Research and Development Team. Incorporating our dedication to quality and customer care focus, the T5 is ideal for a large number of applications and has been designed around the ethos of;

- DSP technology
- Transformerless output
- Low input THD with .99pf

Production of the T5 takes place at our purpose built 40,000m2 factory. To achieve high quality standards all PCB boards are produced by the latest SMT (Surface Mount Technology) PLC controlled flow soldering technologies, which comply with RoHS standards.

Extensive and rigorous testing is carried out on all systems within the factory. Shock and vibration tests ensure that the assembly of the unit is compliant with our consistent manufacturing standards. Simply this means that you, the client, have the assurance that the system you receive is ready for installation and operation.

Expansion and Compatibility

For fail safe redundancy or power expansion the T5 offers parallel configuration.

Hot stand by mode provides one or more units to support the critical load while remaining units perform the standby function. In any event the power will have a no break transfer to the standby unit. Consequently the critical load is continuously supported and you have complete confidence in the operation of your equipment.
Paralell mode is a function of the load balanced across a number of configured units to continuously support the critical equipment.

Hot swap functions can take place with the load rebalanced and supported by the remaining units whilst a single machine is shut down for maintenance.

When designing or sourcing emergency power supplies it is imperative to investigate the compatibility of the system. The T5 IGBT design provides compatibility with rotary power supplies such as generators. With reduction in THD values and with power factor correction near unity IGBT technology means that the system is compatible with a variety of generators including those that produce fluctuating output frequencies.

The benefit to you the client is that the generator does not require the more than generous over-sizing that once was apparent with thyristor and transformer based UPS systems. Now with IGBT technology the generator only requires up to a maximum of 20%* more in available power than the UPS. This greatly reduces the cost of the generator and power package.

The T5 is compliant to Safety EN50009-1-1-1, EMC EN50091-2, EN62040-3 and is protected to IP20.

UPS Management

UPS control and management is achieved by Real Digital Signal Processor (DSP) which is 200 times faster than standard microprocessors. This helps to make your UPS smarter. DSP substantially improves MTBF reliability and technical performance. With the assistance of advanced heat management design and Smart Fan Speed Regulation the systems reacts to internal and external temperature changes so that the fans will increase in speed as temperatures rise and like wise decrease in speed as temperature cools, additionally this reduces the overall audible noise during normal operation.

AVR Automatic Voltage Regulation:

Not all off-line or line-Interactive UPS have an AVR. The benefit of an AVR, which is essentially a switching transformer, is that the voltage can be regulated without having to engage the batteries; this feature dramatically extends battery life. AVR’s are not normally required with On-Line UPS.

Long Back Up Times:

Typically UPS have a standard run time of between five to ten minutes, but the demand for longer autonomies is growing, especially in the area of telecoms. For UPS to be able to offer longer run times the system has to be able to offer additional battery charging and a continuously rated power output stage, when you see this logo against a product you can rest assured that a reliable battery recharge and extension run time can be provided.

Surge Protection:

Surge protection is vital for today’s modern commutations equipment; surges can take two forms, (1) high speed (transient spike) (2) slow voltage increase, typical in factories or end of grid situations. Surges are not just an increase in voltage but also in energy, it is the power stored in the surge that can cause the most damage, when you see this logo relax, surge protection is on hand.

Software:

When you see this Icon you have available to you a wide variety of power management and shutdown options.

Tele/Modem Port:

The Modem Port offers the client the opportunity to interface with the UPS via a phone line or alternatively the modem can be programmed to call up to six phone numbers in the event of a fault or mains failure condition.

RS-232, RS488, Relay Interface and SNMP and specialist UPS management software offer a variety of real time monitoring and management solutions that can be accessed remotely (SNMP) for sophisticated remote UPS management.

    Avanced Battery Management

By the use of Intelligent Temperature Controlled Battery Chargers, battery life and performance is extended providing the reliance required during battery mode.

With the capability to expand the battery blocks with the addition of matching battery cabinets it is possible to increase the required battery autonomy which is always of benefit.

    What You Need To Know

Aware that many power disturbances are generated in-house via the use of lifts and inrush currents ie, from printers.

How dependant is your business on the constant functioning of mission operable equipment?
Protection can be found with the use of a T5 Uninterruptible Power Supply.

    Typical application protection with a T5;

    Sensitive Medical Equipment
    Telephone System
    Network Applications
    Mission Critical Equipment
    PLC Controlled Automation Equipment
    CCTV
    Building Management System
    Emergency Lighting Applications

    Intallation

The T5 has real benefit during the installation stages.

Planning the installation of a UPS is often fraught with issues, how big should my supply be, how much space do I need, what about the weight, if the UPS is sited away from the IT room how can I see what its doing. All these problems are neatly addressed by the T5 series.

As the T5 UPS is transformerless its size and weight is typically twenty percent smaller and lighter than a conventional system, this has the added benefit that installation is much easier and that raised floor systems don’t have to be reinforced, it also means that the air conditioning will not have to work quite so hard. The T5 is transformer free thus the low audible but irritating noise often associated with transformer based machines is not present, this means that the T5 can be sited in a more convenient location rather than in some dark lonely cellar.

With continued emphasis being placed on health and safety the lightweight T5 lends itself very well to the Off-load and Position stages of any installation. Availability of a separate mains input supply for options of dual feed provide additional confidence in the UPS operation. A fail safe no break static by-pass switch (0ms) provides protection and reassurance with the provision of a manual by-pass function as standard.

    On-line "Double Conversion" Technology

An Uninterruptible Power Supply should protect the load continuously without any break in supply during voltage peaks and troughs and whilst change-over takes place from normal operational mode to battery mode. The T5 series provides the only technology that should be specified at the design stage or purchased by the buyer. That is True On-Line “Double Conversion producing a pure sine wave. Many other manufactures offer less effective technology that can not provide complete protection.

As a tribute to the capabilities of our R&D team it is with confidence that we can inform our clients of the acceptable wide voltage input parameters (80VAC to 280VAC Per Phase*) that the T5 has to offer. Nominally these are outside the acceptable range for many major UPS manufactures. With the option of galvanic isolation or further modification for extreme voltage ranges the T5 really is the bench mark for transformerles UPS design.

    Innovative IGBT Rectifier Technology Benefits

Innovative IGBT Rectifier Technology takes control of power switching by the means of a high frequency inverter and rectifier system. Noticeable is the reduction of medium and low frequency noise that is normally generated by large power products.
This advanced technology subsequently means that there is almost unity input power factor (0.99 Input p.f.). Working in conjunction with the Active Harmonic Correction function the T5 offers less than 5% input THDi, less than 3% output voltage THD and at over 92% efficiency making the system one of the most cost effective and efficient of its class.

Offering top class performance and functionality the T5 will provide Three Phase Input / Single Phase out put*, Three Phase Input / Three Phase Output and with the use of the IGBT technology Single Phase Input / Three Phase Output, a truly outstanding Uninterruptible Power Supply.

A major Value Added Benefit of the T5 series is that it is compact, lightweight and unobtrusive. This is attributed to the Transformerless design using the latest Real Digital Signal Processor (DSP) controlled IGBT technology. This benefit will become apparent whilst designing the computer room or providing valuable space for a UPS to be sited.
With its sleek and stylish design the T5 system will not look out of place in any application.
